Recommendations....(3)

Hey!
DON'T KILL ME!
I'm SO sorry! I honestly am! I can't believe I haven't posted anything for like 5 weeks! Oh My God. I'm a terrible person. It's just that I was super busy with school and FA's (Formative Assessments), and I just couldn't find the time. And no I haven't finished any book or else I would've written no matter what. I am still currently reading Delirium by Lauren Oliver which I put on hold because of my exams. So, no this is not a review. It is, however, a recommendations post for Wattpad books.

These are some of my recent favourites:

1. F.A.I.T.H.: I mentioned this last time also but this is and always will be my absolute favourite book on Wattpad because it is just AMAZING and everyone should read it.

2. My Brother's Best Friend: Emily comes back from a year in London to find that the boy she absolutely despises - her brother's best friend - has moved into their apartment. How will Emily survive living with Parker?

3. The President's Daughter: Alice has a secret. She's the daughter of the man who runs the country. Alice finally gets the chance to go back to a regular high school, but when she angers the schools bad boy, her life gets even more complicated.

4. The Heartbreak Chronicles: Oliver, Xander, JJ and Alec are just four regular guys. Of course they're also the members of the world famous boy band The Heartbreakers. This book contains four stories, one for each band member.

5. Battle Of The Captains: It started out as a game. She's everything a girl wants to be. He's everything a girl wants. As head cheerleader and quarterback, Kody and Austin are naturally expected to be together. But, all their lives, everything between them has been just a competition. A challenge. A game. But what happens when it isn't just a game anymore?

6. Lover Dearest: This is the third book is the third book in the Celebrity Status series which I'd mentioned last time but I wasn't aware that there was a third book in the series. This book is written from Libby, Holly's best friend's POV. It's amazing.

So, yeah. These are my most recent favourites. Go read them on Wattpad.

Also I have decided the name of the story I am writing. Yes, for those of you who haven't read my earlier posts, I am writing a story because I absolutely love to write. It will be "My Best Friend Is A Boy". It is NOT a romance book. It is a cute story showing that a boy and girl can be just friends. Because of a lot of bugging and threatening from my friends, I have decided to publish it on Wattpad. But, I wouldn't have been able to do it without them. I owe it all to them. Not sure when I will start it though, so if you are interested in it you can go follow me on Wattpad at @anulovesbooks.

Once again, I'm so sorry for not writing sooner. But, you know I love you guys...
Thanks for reading. I'll see you next time.

If I Stay by Gayle Forman

Hello!!
As you can see from the title I am doing a review of If I Stay by Gayle Forman today because I told you last time that I would and because I just finished it in school today and I should probably write it while the memories are still fresh. So should we just get to it then? Okay.

*SPOILER ALERT*

This is one beautiful book. I loved it. I simply loved it. The way it has been written is amazing. I totally worship Gayle Forman for his writing style. I loved how the whole book takes place over the span of just one day. The flashbacks were simply amazing though I would've liked to read some more Mia and Adam scenes. Surprisingly I only shed a tear or two in the end when Adam confesses, but that must have had something to do with the fact that my class teacher was in the room at the time. I didn't cry for Teddy's death because it happened so fast, that by the time I had come to terms with the fact that Teddy was dead, I was already reading another amazing flashback. And I had already seen the movie so I knew exactly what was going to happen. So, the only time I did cry was in the ending.

But nevertheless the book was amazing and you all should read it. I give it a 4.5/5 rating.

So, I will hopefully see you next week with another review....I have no idea which book I'll be reading though. I don't even know if I will be able to write next week. Things are getting hectic at school and my mom is keeping me under lock and key.

Anyway, Have a nice day!

The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan

Hello Everyone!
It's over!! I can't believe it's finally over! Percy Jackson's story is finally over! I'm crying right now....
I swear I got this book on my birthday, which happened to be the day it released here in Dubai and I just held onto it and cried because I had this overwhelming urge to read it but at the same time I didn't want to read it because I just couldn't accept the fact that this story - this incredible story of this incredible hero who has saved the world countless times, who kids look upto - is coming to an end. I knew that once I start and finish it, it would be over. Percy's story which has lived for 10 years is now coming to an end. God, this is deep. I honestly have no idea how the Harry Potter fans - the ones who have grown up with that world - let it go (I'm turning into Elsa! Someone help!). It must have been excruciating to do that.

Anyway, I enjoyed my birthday with my best friends and it couldn't have been better. So, I'm finally 14!
Let's get onto the review shall we?

IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THIS BOOK YET, PLEASE DO NOT READ AHEAD.
*SPOILER ALERT*

I am very disappointed. Don't kill me! But this is not what I was expecting. I was expecting an Epilogue where Percy and Annabeth are living happily ever after in New Rome with their kids and where Jason and Piper are still going strong and Leo and Calypso's Garage: Auto Repair and Mechanical Monsters was a real thing. Where Hazel and Frank are enjoying life in New Rome and there is no worries!

But that is far from what we got. What we got is more worries. More and more worries. It ends in a freaking cliffhanger! A FREAKING CLIFFHANGER!!! How is that even possible!?!? It's the last book of the series! It can't end with a cliffhanger! There is no book after this! What the fudge happens to Leo and Calypso?! And Percy and Annabeth?! Okay.....I need to calm down. I am literally banging the keys on the keyboard right now. I'm that worked up. I'm not only disappointed, I'm angry! I'm so freaking angry with Rick right now, that there isn't anything I wouldn't do to take a flight to his house and demand an explanation. Am I the only one?

Other than the very disappointing ending, the book was okay.Yes, you heard right. Not amazing or anything but just okay. It was kinda slow paced compared to his other books. I mean it is supposed to be the most action-packed book there is. The last book, when the battle, when the war takes place happens to be the most slow paced book in the whole Heroes of Olympus series. Atleast according to me. While reading the other books I swear I never slept until I finished them. But for BoO I took breaks in the middle and even read Wattpad and another book called If I Stay. So, yeah.

This was definitely one of the more funnier books of his. Rick never fails to make us laugh. He didn't this time either. So, that is one plus point. I didn't like that there were no chapters in Percy and Annabeth's POV. That is what I was looking forward to. All in all, I enjoyed it but it is nowhere near Mark of Athena or House of Hades.

I give it a 3/5 rating. I know that is pretty low for me but I don't know I just don't feel like giving it anything more.

So, for my birthday I got 8 books. 2 of which I have already finished. They are:
1. Delirium by Lauren Oliver
2. Pandemonium (Delirium #2) by Lauren Oliver
3. If I Stay by Gayle Forman
4. Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan
5. The System by Gemma Malley
6. Airman by Eoin Colfer
7. The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan
8. The Silver Shadows by Richelle Mead

So, I've got 6 book to read....hopefully it will last me till the end of November (though I seriously doubt it). I got to go now kay? But I will see you soon with the review of If I Stay (maybe).

I love you all!

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

Hello all you beautiful people!
As you can probably see, I'm in a good mood. Why? Well, it's definitely not because of my suckish exam results but the fact that my birthday is in exactly a week! Yay! I'm turning 14! I'm so excited! Okay....that's a lot of exclamation marks :)
Anyway, I just finished Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell and here is the review.

*SPOILERS*

I started this book 2 months ago and at the time it seemed not that great, I mean if I of all people take 2 months to read a book well then it's probably boring. But, it is not. It's actually a really good book. I mean I think at one point I would have gotten a little tired of it because it is quite different from the books I am used to reading, but I started it again today and couldn't put it down till I finished it.

Rainbow Rowell's writing is really different form that which I am used to, but nevertheless her book had me hooked today. Hell, I even almost tripped and fell, while crossing the road with my head stuck in this book. Yeah, not a good idea.....don't try that at home kids :P

I.Ship.Cather.And.Levi. I'm kinda predictable that way because I almost always ship the main characters together. I hate Nick. Just saying....that son of a beech stole their book. Their book, the one they wrote together, and gave it as his own. I hate Nick. I'm not a fan of Wren either....I mean I have no idea why Cather would think that Wren is a better person than her. I mean clearly Cath is so much more amazing than Wren. I mean alcohol poisoning Wren? Really? Okay whatever....

So, overall I liked the book. Towards the middle it did become kinda slow paced and therefore became boring to me. Of course that opinion can very much change from person to person. There are people who worship this book. Trust me, I know. So, I give this book 3.5/5 stars.

I am writing a book! This is the first time I'm actually announcing it....not many people know about this and now all of you do. I will probably, eventually put it up on Wattpad so be sure to follow me (anulovesbooks) to get updates. So far I've only reached Chapter 2 but I'm working on it.

Anyway, I'll see y'all next time.

Recommendations....(2)

Hello everyone!!
I'm finally back! My exams are finally over! (almost :P)
I know I said I would probably only come back at the beginning on October but all my main exams are over (emphasis on 'main') and I couldn't resist writing another post and I haven't read any new book except Wattpad books so I ended up with this post. So I've been reading Wattpad and watching Vampire Diaries all day and my eyes feel like they're ready to pop out of their sockets, nevertheless I'm writing this because I miss you all so much.

Okay so here are some of my newer favourites on Wattpad:

1. F.A.I.T.H (The BAD BOYS Good Girl): This book is my absolute favourite. It is just AMAZING! I cant even express how much I love this book. Drop everything you are doing right now and go read this book right now.

2. My Wattpad Love : This another one of my favs. It is about how two people can fall in love even over the internet. Also read it's sequel: Growing Up.

3. Must Date the Playboy: This is a really nice story of how hate and scheming and plotting eventually turns into love and heartbreak. Also read the sequel: Must Hate the Playboy.

4. Maybe Perfect: Okay. This is one of the cutest stories I have ever read! It is so cute and innocent and did I mention cute? You get the point right?

5. Celebrity Status: This is one good book. I really like it 'cuz it's kinda different but not that different at the same time from the other Teen Fiction/ Romance books on Wattpad. But it is simply amazing. Also read it's sequel: Cross My Heart.

6. Mr.Popular and I: I am currently reading this as we speak, but if I know one thing it is that this book has got me hooked. It's amazing. Just go read it.

7. The Anderson Boys: Have you ever wondered what it'd be like to stay at a house that has 10 extremely handsome, good looking boys living under the same roof? No? Yes? Well, wanna find out? Yeah, read the book. Though even I haven't finished it, also read it's sequel: Forever and Always. (Personally I think she got the book's title from The Vampire Diaries. Forever and Always? Anyone following me? Anyone? No? Okay. *hangs head in shame*)

Okay! So that was 7 books, 11 if you count the sequels. I know what you're wondering and yes I have already finished all those books. It's an addiction. And that's basically why my mom has revoked all my electronic gadget privileges, except for my laptop, my mobile and my iPad are all on lock down :'(. Well that and because my exams didn't go just as well as she was expecting *nervous chuckle* :). Little did she know I can access Wattpad from my laptop too. You can all follow me on anulovesbooks on Wattpad.
Anyway, today is a really proud day for all Indians. #MissionMars , Mangalyan was successful in reaching the orbit of Mars and I am so extremely proud. It is in moments like this that I truly appreciate and am proud to be Indian.

I hope you liked this. Comment below and let me know your thoughts on Wattpad or anything or if you happen to know any good Wattpad books I'd love to take suggestions....you all know the genre of books that I read.

I'll see you next time.

Note.

Hey Everyone!
So, I'm really sorry. I know I took way more than just 2-3 weeks for another post but the thing is I have my Summative Assesments starting in a week and I've been very busy studying and trying to keep up my straight A streak. So, yes, I wont be writing anything until October starts....My exams go on till the end of September :'(. This exam is really important because it affects which college I will get into later on in life....
Anyway, I sadly do not have a book review for today, but hopefully you all will get one when October starts....
So, this is my last post for some time now.
I also want to wish all my teachers a very Happy Teacher's Day! (though they won't see this) and all those who celebrate it a very happy and prosperous Onam!
Love you all!
Wish me luck!

The Silver Shadows by Richelle Mead

Hey everyone!!

I know it's really soon since I last wrote to be writing another review but I couldn't not write the review of this book. This book for which I have been waiting SOO long and have been dying to read which came out like a week back. Yep. It is the fifth book in the Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead: The Silver Shadows.

I am in Kerala right now and should ideally not be on allowed on the computer because my mom says that time in India should be spent with my grandparents - which I totally agree with - but if I couldn't wait another hour to write this review how was I expected to wait 2 weeks?! Okay, so lets get to the good parts shall we?

A lot of you may not have read it this soon so as usual *SPOILER ALERT*.

If I could personally go to Richelle's house and threaten her to tell me the next part of the story, I would. But, I can't, so I'm just gonna go with screaming my lungs out till they're dry.
Why? Oh why, can't they have a happy ending for once?!? Is that too much to ask?!
Okay, let's back up a bit.....The Wedding. Like WTF just happened?!?! I was in the flight while reading that scene and I was just like "Whoa...back up, what in the name of Merlin's most baggy Y-fronts just happened?" (Did u get what I did there Potterheads? *wink, wink*)

I mean one minute my adrenaline is up and they're being chased by Alchemists all over the place and the next Adrian is on one knee asking Sydney is she would marry him! And I'm in the flight facing severe turbulence and I'm hyperventilating because of what just happened and my mom who is sitting right next to me thinks I'm having a panic attack because of the turbulence....not that that happens very often.

You can't blame me though, any sane person in my situation would have done the same right? Right? Okay, maybe not... But after I had my little episode, the reality of the situation kicks in and my feels are all over the place. They're getting married for god's sake! In Vegas no less. And my heart is literally doing a little dance in it's rib cage. And may I just say that the wedding to me was PERFECT. I don't know why but I feel that no matter where, how, when or why they get married, it doesn't dim the fact that they love each other so much that it really doesn't matter in what conditions or for what reasons they got married but that they're bond is so strong that they could do it and accept it with just the blink of an eye.

And so they had the most perfect wedding, not in fairytale standards but they're own, which is what ultimately matters the most. So, after everything, after Sydney nearly dying at re-education, Adrian almost giving himself alcohol poisoning, barely escaping from re-education, thwarting Sheridan and the Alchemists, Lissa allowing Adrian to keep Sydney at Court and Daniella and Nathan splitting up I really was not expecting the one person who supported them from the beginning, the one person who was always there, to get kidnapped. That blow hit really hard, but how could I have been so stupid to have actually thought that Richelle would actually leave them alone to have a much needed 'happily ever after'? How could I have forgotten that this was only the second last of the series and not the last?

So, now after dying to know what happens in The Silver Shadows, I am left back to square one with anticipation for the next book. All in all I will give this book a 4/5 rating, because no doubt about it I loved it but there were some parts where the pain was too agonizing to comprehend. (Okay, maybe I'm being a little too dramatic)

All that being said, I'm really going to miss you all. I won't be seeing you for 2 weeks at the least. Belated Happy Friendship Day to all of you, cause you're all my best friends.

Recommendations...

Hello!!
It's been a very long time since I've posted anything and I am so extremely sorry for that. See, this last week has been a very busy one because I had this dance programme on Thursday for which I had daily 8 hour practices which left me no time at all to read. Whatever time I had left I spent reading Wattpad books.. :(
I swear I'm gonna sue my best friend for having introduced me to Wattpad.
But, I am currently reading 'Fangirl' by Rainbow Rowell.

So, today since I don't have anything to write a review on I will just tell you some of my favourite Wattpad books.
1. Life as told by Nerdy - This is about a girl (nerd) who falls in love and how her whole life changes because of that.
2. How to date a Nerd - This is the sequel to 'Life as told by Nerdy'. It's a little too dramatic but I really loved it.
3. The Search for Cinderella - I've already mentioned this before but I really like the story line of this book.
4. The Bad Boy's Girl - (PG13) This is a cute little story about how hate eventually turns into love.
5. The Cell Phone Swap - What happens when you accidentally swap cell phones with the rivaling school's quartedback? Wanna find out, then read this super cute story.

So, that's all I've got for today. I have read a lot more but I thought I'd tell you my top 5 favourites.
I'm going to India soon to meet my relatives so I don't know if I will be able to update much, but I will be back after 2-3 weeks. So, I may see you only then.
Anyway, Bye for now! :P

Become (Desolation #1) by Ali Cross

Hey guyz!
So, I'm back with a review which, you can probably tell from the title is not The Scorch Trials :(
It is however the book Become by Ali Cross. Okay, I'm not 100% sure whether this is a real published book cuz I read on Wattpad but, it is there on Goodreads and Amazon. So, I'm guessing it is, which means that I will obviously be reviewing it.

This is one of the best Paranormal books that I've ever read. I mean the only other YA Paranormal's that I've read (half) is the Hush, Hush series which was terrible....so that's not saying much. But for what it's worth I really liked this book. It is an amazing story of a girl on a quest to find her herself. To "Become" what she is and embrace that. It is a beautiful story though there a few cracks in the plot. But then again no book is perfect. I did feel like it was dragging at one point and I till very late in the book didn't fully understand the complete storyline on which it is based but it is a really good story and I can't wait to read the next book in the series: Desolate.
Okay I know I say that a lot but I genuinely can't wait to read all those books....

That being said I give the book a 4/5 rating. I know that may come of as a shock to you considering I just wrote a whole paragraph on why I like it so much but, even though I liked it very much I don't feel like it deserves a full 5/5 rating. But I totally recommend it to all you Young Adult, Paranormal lovers out there...

Okay? I know this was a short review compared to some of my others.... *blushes*
Anyway, I'll see you next time with another review :)

My Favs!

Hallooo!

Hey Everyone....did all of you get the little Marcus Butler reference there? *wink wink*
You can all probably tell by the title that I'm not gonna be doing a review today cuz a) I haven't finished any new book yet (if you don't include wattpad fanfics) and b) I've been watching Youtubers all day, it's very late here and I'm really sleepy so I don't have the energy to write a whole review.

So....I feel really, awfully guilty right now for not having finished reading a book, but you honestly can't blame me, these Youtubers! What can I say!? Sooooo extremely sorry...  :'(

Right. So, I'm gonna tell you which my favourite book of all time is.

So, my favourite book is the third book in The Infernal Devices trilogy: Clockwork Princess.
If you haven't read this book please don't read ahead cuz I guarantee there will be a lot of spoilers...
Okay. This is the most beautiful book that I have ever read. It is just complete. I know that sounds cliché but it really is complete. It has everything...Cassandra Clare's beautiful writing style, humor, grief, happiness, tragedy, love, hatred, evil, good, tension, suspense, sacrifice and let's not forget it has Will Herondale. It is just PERFECT.

Me being the emotional, sentimental person that I am was a COMPLETE wreck after and while reading this. I was actually in school when I was at the middle (sorta) of the book, and if you don't remember what happened in the middle of the book, well, Jem dies, or everyone thinks Jem dies. And we were having a proxy period at the time and I remember hysterically crying soo hard at this in class and literally everyone in the freaking class stopped talking and were just looking at me like I'm some kind of an alien. I had tears and snout running down my face and one of my best friends who was coincidentally reading Clockwork Prince at the time was sitting next to me trying to calm me down and I was such a mess!
When I went home I read the epilogue and if possible I cried even harder and it got to a point where I got a really bad case of hiccups and the worst headache and I shut myself in my room and just screamed.

The scene where Will finds out that Jem has died, when his parabatai rune bled and the cord snapped and his connection to Jem broke was heart-shattering. Literally. And then the scene in the epilogue when Will and Tessa's first child was born and Will insists on having Brother Zachariah perform the protection ceremony and when he finds out that their son is named James, how he covers his face with his hands and looks away. That scene killed me. It was like having a dagger pushed through my heart (though in reality I'm pretty sure that would be much worse).
So, Yes. This book killed me and brought me back to life because it is just that freaking amazing.

If you haven't read it then just stop everything, every single thing you are doing and go buy the book. Like, NOW.

So, that's it for this week's post. See? This is what happens when you watch too many YouTubers.
Some of my favourite YouTubers by the way are: Troye Sivan, Connor Franta, Superwoman, Marcus Butler, Zoella, Thatcher Joe, Tyler Oakley, Christine (polandbananabooks) and Our2ndLife.

Comment and let me know what your favourite books are and who your favourite YouTubers are.
Whoa....this is even bigger then a review isn't it?
Kay?
I'll see you next week. (Hopefully with a review).

Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl

Hey everyone!!
So, today's review is gonna be about the book which I finished just a few hours ago....which is Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. I know I was supposed to write a review about The Scorch Trials but I'm sorry! I don't know why but all of a sudden I don't feel like continuing with that book. It's not that it is boring. Hell, no it isn't but I think I have a reader's block or something (if there is something like that).... Haven't you ever experienced it? When you really, really desperately want to read a book but can't bring yourself to read it? Or is it just me? Anyway so when I last wrote a review (The Search for Cinderella) I was also reading Beautiful Creatures at the time. And now I've finished reading it. So, let's get to the review shall we?

As always, if you haven't read this book and are planning to, please do not read ahead because there may or may not be a lot of spoilers...

I liked the book. I really, really liked the book. I wasn't expecting it to be this good cause I have a friend who read it and didn't particularly like it very much and I trust her opinion about books a lot, but where she hadn't liked the book, well I did. Maybe you noticed that even though I keep saying I really liked the book I never said I loved the book. I don't know why but it is the sort of book that even though I really enjoyed it, very much, I wouldn't say I loved it. I don't know why, I just liked it very, very much.

Of course, there were some really emotional scenes like Macon Ravenwood's and Ethan's (initial) deaths, where I obviously cried. I don't think I expected Ethan to die (he didn't though). I don't know what I was expecting, maybe Lena going Dark? Yes. I was kinda expecting that, but never did it cross my mind that the vision they saw when they touched the locket would replay itself exactly in modern times with Lena and Ethan Lawson Wate instead of Genevieve and Ethan Carter Wate. Except everything didn't go just like it did before. This time she brought Ethan to life again, completely and not just for a few seconds and what was taken from her in return was her uncle.

So, I really liked this book and I give it 4.5/5 stars.  I can't wait to read the next one Beautiful Darkness. But I'm (hopefully) not gonna start that until I've finished with all the other books I'm currently reading also. Which are:The Book Thief and The Scorch Trials and (I don't know if I can include it but) also The Search for Cinderella.

So, yeah...I've got a lot to read and a lot to study :( . Sadly I've got Summative Assessment's starting right after my vacations.

See you next time with who knows which book's review....

The Search for Cinderella

Hey Guyz!!
I'm so extremely sorry that I didn't write yesterday. The thing is, I'm currently on vacation in Istanbul, Turkey, and I was on a flight yesterday so I couldn't post anything....
And who am I kidding? I didn't know what to write about cause I still haven't finished The Scorch Trials and I'm currently reading The Book Thief (which is a book that cannot be read in a day or two). So, basically I have nothing (almost) to review today.  :(

But, I did say almost. I just recently joined Wattpad, which is (if you do not know) a website or app (which you can download on your phone or tablet) where anyone can make an account and write their own stories which others can view and read. It is more commonly used to write Fanfiction. Right, so the first book I read (on my best friend's recommendation) is The Search for Cinderella.

First, if you don't have an account on Wattpad, I advise you to make an account now.
Second, if you haven't read The Search for Cinderella on Wattpad, please do not read ahead cause there will be a lot of spoilers.

Okay. So, The Search for Cinderella is a good book. It isn't complete is the only problem. See, the only infuriating thing on Wattpad is that most of the times the authors prefer to write a chapter, publish it and then write the next chapter of their books which they publish after a week. Now, because I only joined a week ago, I was able to read 22 chapters of The Search for Cinderella in one go. But, the 22nd chapter ends with a cliffhanger. So, I'm basically going mad to find out what happens next. I mean Xavier just let the truth out.... he just blew up during the interview. I'm really happy he did but I just keep dreaming about what may happen next. And I'm not used to this kind of a wait to know what happens.

I really like the plot and story of this book, but the writing is bad. The grammar and punctuation and the writing in general is really bad. The author needs to get a really good editor before she publishes her book.

That said, I really liked the book and literally cannot wait for next Wednesday I think, when the next chapter will (hopefully) come out. So far I give the book 3.5/5 . Minus points for the writing....
I recommend this book  to all Teen Fiction/Romance/Young Adult lovers out there.

See you next time, hopefully with the review of a real book.

Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell

Hello!
I know, today isn't a Thursday. But, I said last time that I would be writing a review the day I finish the book and won't be waiting for Thursday. So, here it is, your latest review...
I know all of you must have been expecting a review of The Scorch Trials, but sadly I haven't finished it yet. I recently visited the bookstore and replenished my stock of books. The books that I bought are  'Eleanor and Park' by Rainbow Rowell and 'The Book Thief' by Markus Zusak. So, without finishing The Scorch Trials, I started (and finished) Eleanor and Park because I just couldn't resist (and cuz it has the cutest cover). The Book Thief is a book that is completely out of my comfort zone. It is not of the genre that I generally read, but having recently seen the movie, I just had to have this book.
Anyway, lets get to the review, shall we?

Okay, so as usual, I'm just gonna give you this fair warning...If you haven't already read this book and are planning to, then don't read ahead and spoil it for yourself.

Eleanor and Park is a love story. Two sixteen year-olds, Eleanor, and Park fall in love with each other over the course of a whole year. To be honest, I didn't like it that very much. When I read the synopsis at the back of the book, I was ready to read a story of an extraordinary love. The type of love that can move planets, but that isn't what I got while reading the book and I was really disappointed. Because I started the book with so many expectations and many of them fell very short.

Don't get me wrong, I still feel like they loved each other very much but it just doesn't compare to some other love stories that I've read. For example, Sydney and Adrian in the Bloodlines series. Richelle has us believe for sure that there is nothing stronger than their love. That despite the circumstances, despite Adrian being a Moroi and Sydney being human, they love each other so much that they'd do anything for each other.

That wasn't what I felt while reading Eleanor and Park though, I didn't feel that strength in their love. I didn't feel that it could last through anything. I really didn't like that throughout the whole book Eleanor hasn't told Park that she loves him even once. Not even when they were going to get separated from each other for God knows how long. Even then he was the one telling her that he loved her, not the other way around. She chose to tell him that she loves him at the very end of the book after a year of silence. That didn't make much sense to me. You don't answer or read his letters for a year and finally send him a postcard saying you love him? That's cruel.

I hate Richie. And I hate Eleanor's mom, Sabrina for putting up with Richie. I hate the fact that she put up with all his beatings and screamings and never stood up for herself. Even after everything that she's been through to put up with that everyday, I have to say, she's a really strong woman but I wish she were strong enough to kick Richie out of the house or something. That would've been awesome.

Anyway, in general I didn't like the book very much. It's not a book that I would re-read. So, I give it a 2.5/5 rating. I usually love mushy, romantic stuff but I didn't like this book for some reason. It didn't appeal to me. Well, that's my opinion. I know for a fact that many people LOVED this book. It's a really famous book and has got really good reviews and I don't know why but I didn't like it. So, yeah....

Okay?
So, I'll see you next time, hopefully with a review of The Scorch Trials (but you never know).
Bye! :P

The Maze Runner by James Dashner

Hey everybody!
I'm back and I'm so happy....my school just closed today for the summer vacations and I've got 2 months of non-stop reading ahead of me (kinda). So, I'm really excited!
Anyway, I finished The Maze Runner and I'm currently reading the next book The Scorch Trials.
Note: There will or may be a lot of spoilers ahead. So, if you haven't read The Maze Runner and think you want to and will read it sometime, I advise you not to read ahead.

I remember saying that the first chapter of The Maze Runner was boring. But trust me when I say that the rest of the book is not (at least not in my opinion). The book was really interesting and kept me wanting more throughout. Many people say that the characters were boring but I really liked Thomas and Teresa's characters. Teresa is a no-nonsense girl. She doesn't like being treated as fragile or weak or being treated differently just because she's the only girl in a bunch of guys. I also really liked Chuck who becomes the annoying, little brother Thomas didn't have or remember having. Chuck's death was really tragic but kinda expected, which is the only reason why I didn't find myself crying. And you know how emotional I am.

I knew from the start that this book has got something to do with scientists who have purposely kept these kids in a difficult environment, but I didn't know why. In that way it is kind of similar to the Maximum Ride series. I've never liked the idea of a the main character being a pawn in some crazy scientists experiment but this book had me asking for more.

The epilogue is in some ways a cliffhanger cause the book ends and James has you convinced that their all safe and sound, but then you read the epilogue and find out it's all part of the plan! That made me really desperate to read The Scorch Trials, which I'm currently reading.
Overall I liked the book, though it is not one of my favourites. So, I'll give it 4/5 rating.

It is a good book though, and for those of you who like Dystopian fiction, I do recommend it.
Now that my assessments are over and my vacation has started I will probably finish 2-3 books a week or more (but it depends, I may go to India, in which case I don't think I'll be able to write frequent reviews). So, I won't stick to my initial "review on every Thursday" thing, but will write the review the day I finish the book.

Okay. So, I got to go read The Scorch Trials now and maybe watch some Doctor Who. I'll see you when I finish The Scorch Trials.

City of Heavenly Fire

Hello everyone!
I'm back! Yay!
Okay, so last time I told you I would review books that I've read and that I was currently reading The Maze Runner. Well, I was hoping to review it today but I haven't finished the book yet...my Formative Assessments were going on and I didn't get time to read it! Plus, I don't know I read the first chapter and found it kinda...boring. Now, I know I shouldn't judge it just by the first chapter (cuz lots of awesome books had boring first chapters)....but I couldn't help it. Anyway, I am however, going to review the last book I read, which is the last and final book in Cassandra Clare's amazing The Mortal Instruments series - City of Heavenly fire!
If for some reason you haven't heard of or read The Mortal Instruments, I suggest you drop everything you're doing right now and go buy and read the book. Cuz it is AH-MAH-ZING!! Just incredible...
The first book is 'City of Bones'.
If you have read The Mortal Instruments but haven't got to read City of Heavenly Fire cuz it only came out in stores 3 weeks ago, don't read ahead and spoil it for yourself. If there is something I hate it is a spoiler...it just ruins the whole book! So yeah don't read anymore...go and hit the little 'X' button on the right top corner of your computer/laptop screen.

Now to the good stuff: City of Heavenly Fire!
Okay. Lets just get this straight. If you're like me and very emotional then you probably (like me) died inside while reading this book. OMG! It's just so sad in the end I can't take it. I literally cried myself to sleep when I finished it and got myself a bad cold and a fever. WHY SIMON?!?!. Why Cassy? Didn't you get anyone else to pick on? Simon is my favourite character in the whole series. And he got his freaking memories taken away by Magnus's freaking dad! Don't get me wrong... I love Magnus. But oh Simon!
I loved that Tessa and Jem from The Infernal Devices was a huge part of this book cuz I just LOVE The Infernal Devices series....all the characters are so well-built and have so much depth in them. Clockwork Princess is easily my favourite book of all time. Yeah so, I love Brother Zachariah and when he turned back into Jem, I had to put my book down and hug it to my chest and just let it all sink in for like, 10 minutes and then continue with the book, cuz it was just too much to take in.
Another amazing part of CoHF is Emma Carstairs. This 12 year old girl is a real role model. She is just such a strong character, and she has such a strong friendship with Jules. I love their relationship. They're only 12 and they've been through so much. They both now have no parents and have 5 children to look after. I totally ship them together and cant wait for the Dark Artifices series which comes out next year. I was screaming at her, well the book, when she agreed to be his parabatai cuz parabatai aren't supposed to have any sexual relationships with each other.
I don't like what Clary and Jace did. I mean I totally ship them. I ship them so hard, in fact their one of my OTP's. But I hate that their first time had to be in Edom. I mean are you kidding me?!?
Anyway I really like Simon and Isabelle's relationship in this. I'd already shipped them but my love for those two just shot up 10 notches.
I don't like or understand Maia wanting to break up with Jordan...which leads me to my next topic of discussion. Jordan. I liked Jordan! I don't know why Cassy had to kill him but I guess if there wasn't even one death in the book....that would be kinda weird.

Anyway, I've written a lot about my views on CoHF. But I'd really like to know all of yours too.
As of now though, I really got to go....see, my assessments haven't finished and I've got a lot to study. But I will see you next Thursday, hopefully with the review of The Maze Runner.

Okay?

Books!

Heylo Everyone!
Long time no blog...
I think introductions are in order don't you? (Since the last time I blogged, I was 10 years old)
Okay, My name is Anagha Kumar.
I'm 13 years old and I'm in the 9th grade at The Indian High School.
I like Maths.
I love listening to music.
I enjoy dancing and singing a lot.
But, I LOVE reading books.
Which is what I thought I'll blog about (or try blogging about - emphasis on the 'try') every week .i.e. The books I read, have read or want to read and my views on them.
Nothing gives me more joy than reading. Why? Cuz I can travel to different worlds with just the turn of a page. For those brief moments when I read, I get to step out of this world and enter another. I get to step out of my shoes and walk in someone else's. I get to see other's views and opinions.
When I read, I fall in love with the characters and become more familiar with them, than I am of my own friends.
I even obsess and ship my favourite characters together.
In short, I'm a Fangirl.

What are my Fandoms?
Glad you asked: Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, The Hunger Games, Divergent, The Fault In Our Stars, The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices, The Kane Chronicles, The Host, Vampire Academy, Bloodlines, Maximum Ride, Lorien Legacies, Unearthly, Sherlock, Doctor Who and many, many more...

The last book I read?
Boundless (Unearthly #3).
And it was/is amazing. Incredible. PERFECT. I just loved it so much. I couldn't have imagined a more perfect end to the series. This series is a must read for you Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Young Adult lovers out there.

What I'm currently reading?
The Maze Runner.
I saw the movie trailer the other day and thought "I have to see this movie" (Cuz I'm a sucker for dystopian worlds) but then again I'm not gonna see a movie without reading the book, cuz that's just plain wrong. So I started the book, even though it hasn't got many positive reviews.

What I want to read:
Oh, now that will take some time to tell. Cuz my list is LONG.
1. Delirium Trilogy.
2. Alex Rider series (10 books)
3. The Chronicles of Narnia (7 books)
4. Silence (Hush, Hush #3)
5. Finale (Hush, Hush #4)

That's all I can think about for now.
I've got to go.
I'll see you (maybe) on Thursday.
Byeeee :)
